ABSTRACT
In the cardiology practice in our country, patients with clinical suspicion of pul-monary hypertension are frequently referred, most of them for diagnostic confir-mation, definition of causes and therapeutic approach. The criterion to define it is a mean pulmonary artery pressure greater than 25 mmHg. The disease can present in different clinical processes, which are classified into five groups. In this article is presented a review of the bibliography and the most recent publications on this subject.
