ABSTRACT
Acute generalized rash pustulosis is a febrile, skin reaction to drugs. The objective of the paper was to report this case because of how rare and interesting this disease is in our country. It has a sudden onset and its incidence is rare. We report the case of a 51-year-old male patient, white skin color, who was admitted to the Internal Medicine service due to fever and progressive erythematopustular rash, with slight measurement of his general condition, significant leukocytosis and neutrophilia. He has a history of treatment with cephalexin and oral azithromycin for a respiratory condition from one week before his hospitalization. He was treated with parenteral cephalosporin in the ward and he got worse. Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis was suspected, the antibiotic was suspended and intravenous steroids were indicated. Gradual improvement and remission of his dermatological and hematic condition was observed in the course of 10 days. The biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis.
