ABSTRACT
Objective. To determine the prevalence of
Chlamydia trachomatis among women who attend the General Hospital in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chis. It was a transverse, descriptive and prevalence study. The female group was taken a sample of 150 (n = 150) women’s ages were within the fertile range, the sample obtained from the patient’s endocervix were processed according to the specific elements given by CLAMYDIAZYME diagnostic Kit Abbott Laboratories. The technique used in the study is an enzymatic immuno-essay ELISA, direct type for the detection of antigen. According to the positive cases in pregnant women, a prevalence of 135.1 per 1,000 pregnant women was reported and in non pregnant women was 181.8 per 1,000, in general the frequency of antibody for C. trachomatis is 46.47 per 1,000 women within fertile age.
