Unique care model through the incorporation of liaison nursing: experiences of its implementation at the Hospital Zonal General de Agudos 'Prof. Dr. Ramón Carrillo'

ABSTRACT
Background: the rhythm of life of a puerperium requires a large percentage of attention in the recovery of her postpartum health and comprehensive care for her newborn.Aim: to describe the experiences in the implementation of a Unique Comprehensive Care Model through the incorporation of liaison nursing.
Methods: an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out. The sample consisted of 109 pregnant women.
Results: during the last trimester of the year 2021, 80 deliveries and 32 cesarean sections were performed, where 80 % of the women remained accompanied. Ninety-seven percent agreed to receive information about liaison nursing. 94 % of the users confirmed receipt of messages about the provision of home care and the resource available for consultation on the care of newborns and women in puerperal state, 40 % of consultations were received and communication with exchange/feedback was generated. 65 % consulted on issues related to breastfeeding management, 13 % made consultations linked to breast engorgement management, 15% consulted on how to manage colic and stool frequency.
Conclusions: The implementation of the strategy gave opportunity and the improvement plan constituted an improvement in the quality of care and organizational management in relation to the care of puerperal women, from an integral approach; on the other hand, it contributed to the woman and her environment to feel safe and with a more personalized care.
