ABSTRACT

Background: Plasmacytoid dendritic cell blast neoplasia (NBCDP) is a rare and highly aggressive hematological malignancy, with florid symptoms, which requires early recognition.
Clinical case: A female patient in the second decade of life with plasmacytoid dendritic cell blast neoplasia from the state of Michoacán, Mexico, more relevant findings highlighted the presence of skin lesions, abdominal pain secondary to mesenteric lymphadenitis and infiltration of the bone marrow. Initially, a differential diagnosis was made with vasculitis, dengue and even melanoma due to the initial lesion that the patient presented.
Conclusions: In this disease, it is necessary to establish the differential diagnosis with lymphoproliferative disorders, lymphoid and acute myeloid leukemias, the morphological analysis of neoplastic cells is an important aspect for an adequate diagnostic orientation.
