ABSTRACT
The Metered dose inhalers that previously dominated the market of the therapy with aerosol have seen forced to look for new technologies since dry powders devices are progressively dominating, Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) compounds have been replaced, by Hydrofluoroalkane (HFA) that are not destructive of the atmospheric ozone layer, in Evohaler and Qvar inhalers, the last one with smaller breathable particles. The new models have incorporated mechanisms activated by the patient’s breathing like the Autohaler, Easi-Breathe and Xcelovent, and finally the manufacturers combined characteristic of the Dry powders devices with the Metered-dose inhalers and get the hybrid model Respimat.
