Aerosolterapia mediante los nuevos inhaladores de dosis medida

RESUMEN
Los inhaladores de “dosis medida” que previamente dominaron el mercado de la aerosolterapia se han visto forzados a buscar nuevas tecnologías para evitar ser reemplazados por los dispositivos para “polvo seco” que se apropian progresivamente de la inhaloterapia. Se han reemplazado los compuestos propelentes clorofluorocarbonados (CFC) de la suspensión en spray, por los hidrofluoroalkanos que no son destructores de la capa atmosférica de ozono, surgiendo Evohaler y el Qvar que han añadido la característica de partículas respirables más pequeñas. Los nuevos modelos han incorporado mecanismos accionados por la respiración en los inhaladores Autohaler, Easi-Breathe y Xcelovent; y finalmente han conjuntado características de los dispositivos de polvo seco y ha surgido el reciente modelo híbrido Respimat.
