ABSTRACT
The Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst (COC) was first described by Gorlin in 1962. It is an uncommon lesion, it affects both sexes equally, without predilection for maxilla or mandible, frequently associated with included teeth, like other lesions with which it shares radiological characteristics. Clinically, it is characterized by slow and asymptomatic growth, it can be associated with other lesions, the most frequent being the odontoma. A 13-year-old female patient with an asymptomatic swelling in the right upper jaw is presented, involving an impacted canine and a partially erupted second premolar, with 2 years of evolution. Radiographically, a multilocular radiolucent area with well-defined borders, of 6 cm in diameter was observed. Curettage of the lesion was performed and histopathologically a fibrous capsule lined by ameloblastomatous epithelium with focal accumulations of ghost cells was observed. The patient has no recurrence at eight months of follow-up.
