Network learning: an option in COVID-19 times

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Network learning through the use of the Virtual Health Classroom becomes a fundamental strategy in COVID-19 times.Objective: Describe the results of network learning, as an option in COVID-19 times.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted, and the time frame was from April 6 to May 29. The sample was the total number of students enrolled in the virtual health classroom, and it was taken as an exclusion criterion the fact of not completing the final evaluative exercise of the academic program. A space was created on the Moodle platform of the Virtual University of Health with the established methodology for the creation of the course. The descriptive analysis of the results obtained was carried out, with the calculation of absolute and relative frequencies.
Results: The analysis included 450, 283 female students (62.9%); in the final assessment, 338 (75%) students achieved excellent grades. Responses on epidemiology and clinic obtained better scores in relation to biosecurity topics, in particular the ones related with the implementation of standard precautionary measures.
Conclusions: The course complements the preparation of the National Health System´s human resources. These results confirm the potential of virtual network learning environments to meet the training needs of health professionals in the confrontation to COVID-19.
