ABSTRACT
The Nitric Oxide identification as an endothelial derived relaxing molecule has increased the interest in the study of the numerous functions of the endothelium. Endothelial disfunction is the lack of vascular smooth muscle relaxation after a mechanical or chemical stimuli in the presence of an intact endothelium. It is also the modification in plasma leves of the substances released by the endothelial cells. Its study permits an early identification of the arterial damage that is maintained throughout all the vascular disease.
