ABSTRACT
Cardiotoxicity involves a whole field of study within the discipline of cardio oncology. At the same time, radiotherapy represents one of treatments responsible for the development of heart disease associated with oncological therapies; and in this case, it is called Radiation-Induced Heart Disease (RIHD).
Prevention, early detection, and treatment of RIHD, remain in constant study and represent a challenge for the future, knowing that the survival of cancer patients continues to increase, and therefore the prevalence of cases with cardiac complications associated with radiation is likely to increase.
