ABSTRACT
The treatment of small renal masses has evolved from a radical nephrectomy to nephron sparing surgery with the intent to preserve kidney function. Partial nephrectomy is more complex than the radical one and it presents a higher incidence of complications, such as bleeding, which is the most frequent. The objectives of this work are to describe a case of renal pseudoaneurysm after a laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and to discuss its treatment. A 62 years old male patient with an incidental diagnosis of right renal mass underwent a laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and presented postoperative bleeding due to a renal pseudoaneurysm treated by selective arterial embolization. Selective arterial embolization should be considered as a therapeutic alternative when there is hemodynamic stability, since it is less invasive and when conducted it can preserve most of the viable renal parenchyma.REFERENCES
