ABSTRACT
Malaria is one of the world’s most important parasitic infection. The disease has been known since the time of the Egyptians. Hipocrates thought that it was the result of “bad air” of the lakes and swamps, and for this reason the name of malaria (bad air) and “paludism” (plauster or swamp). There are four species that can parasite the humans:
P. vivax, P. falciparum P. malarie and
P. ovale. In this article, we present a case of malaria caused by
P. ovale in a Mexican citizen who had a trip to Nigeria.
