ABSTRACT
The world prevalence in diabetic nephropathy is the 35 %, and 20 to 25 % on microalbuminuria. If the excretion of those parameters oscillate between 15 to 30 micrograms per minute, then quick progress in nephropathy with renal failure. 71 samples of 55 -year- old patients with diabetic mellitus type 2 were included. The evolution of such diabetes oscillated between two months and 14 years, and the samples were taken from IMSS first level clinics and hospitals. The method of sulfosalicylic acid compared to RIA standard was used, in order to detect microalbuminuria. It was found, a sensibility of 70 % and 93 % on ideal specificity to screen test, and it had a $ 0.80 cost with an easy use.Consecquently, our objective was to validate the sulfosalicylic acid test to detect microalbuminuria on diabetes mellitus patients type 2, reducing the risk of renal damage on a preventive way.
