ABSTRACT
Epidemiologic situation related to severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-
2) pandemic, has lead to protocol modifications in terms of management and therapeutic
approaches for many medical conditions, also in administrative, infrastructure and human
resources in health care services worldwide. In this context, attention of neurological
emergencies also faces a modification in their pathway, in terms of a special care for patient's
and medical staff protection, such as acute stroke (ischemic or hemorrhagic), acute
polyneuropathy, multiple sclerosis acute relapse, acute myasthenic crisis, meningo-encephalitis
and status epilepticus, among others.
Local protocols for attention and protection of neurology medical personnel, which is involved in
evaluation of patients during this epidemiological outbreak, allow to keep offering a modified but
evidence-based quality care.
