ABSTRACT
Serological examinations have become essential tools in the diagnosis and management of infection with the
hepatitis c virus (HCV). These tests include detection of antibodies to HCV in serum, detection and quantification of
HCV-RNA, as well as determination of the genotype of HCV in serum. These tests are essential in the diagnosis and
therapeutic management of hepatitis c. In this article we make an exhaustive review of the subject.
