ABSTRACT
The mortality of cancer patients has been significantly reduced due to advances in early diagnosis and cancer treatment. However, in order to improve the prognosis, complications arising from cancer treatments should be prevented, diagnosed and treated through the creation of multidisciplinary teams between oncologists and cardiologists. The experience of cardioncology in the Hnos. Ameijeiras Hospital is presented as an organizational model in a tertiary hospital potentially applicable to secondary hospitals in the country with its results in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiotoxicity and in the monitoring of cancer survivors.
