ABSTRACT
The results of 10 patients with late complications of urinary diversions were analyzed. The late complications were urinary lithiasis or uretero enteric stricture; they were tested by endourological procedures. Four patients (40%) had uretero enteric stricture and six patients (60%) with urinary tract stones. A total of 15 procedures in 10 patients were performed with eleven operations. The success was achieved in all the patients. Total hospital stay averaged was 4.2 days for both groups. No major complications were present. The mean follow up was 14 months. The relapse was not present in the stone group and one patient in the endoureterotomy failed six months after the operation. The patient remainder without obstruction in the furosemid renal scan. We conclude that the endourological procedures to treat the late complications of urinary diversions are safe with high rate of success, avoiding the risk of open surgery and short hospital stay.
