Las causas de mortalidad relacionadas a anestesia han sido examinadas en varios estudios epidemiológicos, tratando de proponer medidas preventivas. Desde luego las más recientes publicaciones involucran la práctica de la anestesia, tomando consideraciones específicas de cada período operatorio (perioperatorio).
