Control estricto de la glucosa en el enfermo grave

RESUMEN
La hiperglucemia en el enfermo grave se asocia a incremento en la morbimortalidad, costos y estancia hospitalaria. El control estricto de la glucosa mediante la infusión continua de insulina guiada por un protocolo ha demostrado en diferentes trabajos que disminuye de manera significativa los costos, días de estancia hospitalaria, complicaciones y mortalidad. Por lo anterior se hace una revisión de la literatura para actualizar a la comunidad médica sobre este tema.
