Eficacia de un método de limpieza de instrumentos endodónticos de Níquel-Titanio con láser Nd:Yag

RESUMEN
La eliminación de debris dentinario alojado en la superficie de instrumentos endodónticos es un objetivo previo a su esterilización evitando el riesgo de infección cruzada.
Objetivo: Evaluar la limpieza causada por un innovador método láser Nd: Yag para eliminar debris dentinario acumulado en la superficie de instrumentos endodónticos de Níquel-Titanio X2 de Protaper Next.
Materiales y Métodos: Experimento
in vitro (n=12 caras) de 6 instrumentos X2 y 6 Wave One Gold en el que se tiñeron instrumentos endodónticos con solución Van Gieson registrando el debris bajo microscopía estereoscópica en instrumentos usados y posteriormente tratados con 2 diferentes métodos de limpieza: Grupo A: Láser Nd: Yag (250 mJ, 3Hz) o Grupo B: Ultrasonido (15 minutos). El debris remanente teñido fue categorizado para su análisis. Se obtuvieron imágenes bajo microscopia estereoscópica (35X) evaluadas por 2 endodoncistas calibrados. Los datos se analizaron con la prueba Kruskal Wallis en el programa SPSS 21 a un alfa .05.
Resultados: El láser Nd:Yag elimina significativamente mayor debris dentinario adherido a la superficie de instrumentos de Níquel titanio que el método de limpieza con ultrasonido (p ‹ 0.05).
Conclusiones: El láser Nd: Yag es un método eficaz para limpiar la superficie de instrumentos rotatorios de níquel-titanio previo a su esterilización.
