Ocurrencia de bacilos Gram negativos no fastidiosos y levaduras en la microbiota subgingival de pacientes chilenos con periodontitis

RESUMEN
Antecedentes y objetivos: Grupos definidos de bacterias patógenas presentes en la microbiota subgingival se han asociado con periodontitis; actualmente, la terapia periodontal convencional tiende a la supresión o erradicación de patógenos periodontales específicos. En algunos pacientes se han podido observar casos de mala respuesta o de refractariedad a la terapia periodontal. Autores han asociado este hecho, en parte, a la presencia de patógenos inusuales en el saco periodontal, razón por la cual, el objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la ocurrencia de bacilos Gram negativos no fastidiosos y levaduras en la microbiota subgingival de un grupo de pacientes chilenos con periodontitis (crónica y agresiva).
Material y métodos: Se tomaron muestras de placa subgingival a 75 pacientes con periodontitis (crónica o agresiva), utilizando conos de papel, los que fueron depositados en RTF frío (4°C) y transportados al laboratorio para su procesamiento.
Resultados: Se determinó que un 22.6% de pacientes presentaba bacilos Gram negativos no fastidiosos y un 9.3% levaduras, el 64.8% de los aislados se identificó como
Alcaligenes faecalis, el 17.6%
Escherichia coli y el 17.6% restante fue
Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Conclusiones: No hubo diferencia significativa entre ambos tipos de periodontitis (p › 0.05).
