Distalización molar mediante Distal Jet con anclaje óseo

RESUMEN
Se presenta el caso de un varón de 16 años con biotipo facial mesofacial, patrón esquelético de clase II con protrusión maxilar y perfil completo convexo; relación molar y canina en clase II bilateral, con apiñamiento anterior superior e inferior; línea media inferior desviada 1 mm hacia la derecha y un biotipo gingival medio. Se realizó un tratamiento de ortodoncia fijo asociado con una disyunción maxilar empleando anclaje óseo y distalización molar con el uso de un Distal Jet y además exodoncias de segundos molares superiores. Se obtuvo una adecuada relación sagital entre las piezas posteriores y un adecuado acople dentario anterior. Asimismo, se produjo el descenso de los terceros molares superiores que remplazaron la posición de las molares extraídas. Este tipo de terapia que requiere la exodoncia atípica de segundos molares ha de ser considerada sólo en aquellos casos en los que se encuentran el tercer molar superior en una posición ideal para su erupción, así como una anatomía coronal y radicular adecuada.
