Introducción al modelo transteórico: rol del apoyo social y de variables sociodemográficas

RESUMEN
Marco teórico: El ajuste de muchos modelos psicológicos se
encuentran alterados por variables psicosociales. Entre los modelos
de cambios de conducta en salud, destaca el de James Prochaska
pues compila una variedad de teorías psicológicas en 5 etapas.
Método: A través de una investigación documental, se pretende
realizar una descripción del Modelo Transteórico (MT),
considerando el impacto del apoyo social, el género y el estatus
socioeconómico en la aplicación del mismo.
Conclusión: la
aplicación del MT depende del tipo de conducta en estudio, del nivel
socioeconómico y el género, siendo importante considerar en el
modelo las distintas dimensiones del apoyo social por ser una
variable protectora en salud. El MT ofrece insumos para la
transformación de la realidad social.
