Alfabetización en salud mental para disminuir la brecha de atención en población adolescente escolarizada

RESUMEN
Fundamento: La alfabetización en salud mental se define como conocimientos y creencias de los trastornos mentales que ayudan a su reconocimiento, manejo y prevención. La evidencia disponible muestra que el conocimiento mejorado de la salud mental y los trastornos mentales, una mejor conciencia de cómo buscar ayuda y tratamiento, y la reducción del estigma contra las enfermedades mentales a nivel individual, comunitario e institucional, pueden mejorar los resultados de la salud mental y aumentar el uso de los servicios de salud.Objetivo: Analizar la literatura de la alfabetización en salud mental, asimismo establecer la importancia de esta en población adolescente escolarizada para mejorar los problemas de salud mental y disminuir la brecha de atención.
Conclusiones: La alfabetización en salud mental se considera relevante para la identificación e intervención temprana de trastornos mentales en población adolescente escolarizada.
