RESUMEN
Varios estudios han demostrado que el ultrasonido en tiempo real facilita la colocación de catéteres centrales y reduce el riesgo de complicaciones. La evaluación estática y dinámica de la relación carotídeo-yugular permite identificar su relación y variantes anatómicas, lo que facilita elaborar el plan de punción.
