Manejo multidisciplinario de metástasis a sistema nervioso central en cáncer cervicouterino

RESUMEN
Introducción: Las metástasis al sistema nervioso central del
cáncer cervico-uteirno es una complicación poco frecuente con mal
pronóstico.
Objetivo: describir la experiencia y manejo de las pacientes con
CaCu y mSNC en un hospital de referencia y la comparación con lo
publicado.
Métodos: Se revisaron expedientes de pacientes con CaCu, de
mayo de 2009 a agosto de 2015.
Resultados: Se encontraron 28 pacientes con mSNC de CaCu.
Intervalo entre el diagnóstico inicial de CaCu y las mSNC: 45 meses;
57% de las pacientes presentó metástasis pulmonares al momento
del diagnóstico de mSNC. La sintomatología más común fue cefalea,
seguida de alteración del estado mental, debilidad focalizada y
náusea/vómito persistentes. Se realizó una comparación con 124
pacientes descritos en la literatura.
Conclusiones: El presente estudio describe la serie más grande de
pacientes con mSNC de CaCu reportada. Esta complicación rara, debe
sospecharse en pacientes con CaCu que presentan sintomatología
neurológica sin explicación aparente.
