El papel de la bacteriospermia asintomática en la infertilidad masculina ha sido motivo de debate por muchos años. Algunos autores consideran que las infecciones urogenitales no son causa de infertilidad;1-3 en cambio otros han planteado que las infecciones ocultas de epidídimo, vesículas seminales y próstata deben ser consideradas como una causa frecuente de alteración de la calidad seminal y de infertilidad.4-6 La controversia está basada en que no se ha probado satisfactoriamente la relación causa-efecto entre esta condición y la infertilidad.
