RESUMEN
La alergia a alimentos ha tenido un incremento de prevalencia en las últimas décadas, el cuadro clínico envuelve varios órganos y sistemas siendo la piel el más comúnmente afectado, la gravedad de los síntomas tiene un rango amplio desde reacciones leves hasta aquellos que pueden poner en peligro la vida como la anafilaxia, el diagnóstico temprano puede mejorar la calidad de vida del paciente al evitar dietas restrictivas innecesarias, en este trabajo se describen aspectos fisiopatológicos de la enfermedad así como presentación clínica y tratamiento actuales.
