La genética de la psoriasis

RESUMEN
La psoriasis es una enfermedad crónica inmunológica de la piel con base genética. Son muchos los estudios realizados para identificar tanto la causa como la genética detrás de esta enfermedad tan común en la población. La siguiente revisión contempla todos los
loci encontrados hasta hoy que vuelven a individuos susceptibles de padecer psoriasis, obtenidos a partir de estudios de asociación al genoma completo. Cada locus encontrado contiene diversos genes que codifican para proteínas que intervienen tanto en la inmunidad innata como adaptativa y en la función de barrera de la piel. Destacan el alelo HLA-C, los genes que codifican para las IL-12 e IL-23 y los genes que codifican para proteínas que regulan el factor de NF-κB, entre otros. Estos hallazgos abren una puerta que permite mejorar las técnicas de diagnóstico y tratamiento.
