RESUMEN
La imagen estructural sigue siendo la base para el diagnóstico de los procesos tumorales cerebrales. Con el desarrollo de la tecnología la imagen por resonancia magnética ha mejorado la precisión diagnóstica apoyada por los métodos funcionales tales como la difusión, la espectroscopia, la perfusión y la técnica BOLD. La posibilidad de hacer un diagnóstico diferencial entre los tumores cerebrales y los procesos inflamatorios, entre los mismos tumores cerebrales y definir su grado de malignidad, son los objetivos principales de los métodos de imagen modernos.
