La artroscopia es la Subespecialidad de la Cirugía Ortopédica (COT) que ha tenido un mayor desarrollo como técnica moderna durante estos últimos 30 años, despertando una gran atracción tanto en profesionales como en pacientes. Cuarenta por ciento de los residentes de cuarto año de COT declaran querer ser artroscopistas frente a 20% que optan por la cirugía reconstructiva articular y 2% por la cirugía de raquis.
