RESUMEN
La punción lumbar se realiza tanto
para fines diagnósticos como
terapéuticos, generando cefalea
hasta en 40% de los casos; lo cual
conlleva considerable morbilidad.
Su exacta fisiopatología aún no
se tiene clara, sin embargo se
cree que la salida persistente
de líquido cefaloraquídeo por
la separación de fibras de la
duramadre es lo que genera la
cefalea. Existen ciertos factores
de riesgo para el desarrollo de
esta complicación, que se deben
tomar en cuenta; ya que podría
evolucionar a complicaciones
severas. El presente documento
revisa los aspectos generales y los
principales tratamientos para el
manejo de la cefalea post punción
lumbar.
