E. coli BLEE, la enterobacteria que ha atravesado barreras

RESUMEN
Las enterobacterias han surgido como agentes causales de infecciones
nosocomiales y adquiridas en la comunidad. La
Escherichia
coli (
E. coli) es el microorganismo más frecuente de este grupo de
bacterias que ha logrado generar resistencia a los antimicrobianos
gracias a la generación de betalactamasas de espectro extendido
(BLEE), y han surgido como causa de infecciones drogo-resistentes
adquiridas en la comunidad. Los carbapenémicos son hoy día la
primera opción terapéutica hacia la
E. coli BLEE; sin embargo, se
requiere reforzar las estrategias que acompañen la terapéutica antimicrobiana
ante este germen que representa una amenaza global
para la salud.
