Neuropatía auditiva

RESUMEN

Introducción: El objetivo de esta revisión es discutir el estado de conocimiento actual sobre la neuropatía auditiva. Desarrollo: Se consideran las controversias que existen actualmente en torno a la definición y conceptos inherentes al término neuropatía desincronización auditiva. Se comentan sus manifestaciones clínicas y la relación hasta ahora conocida con otras entidades clínicas auditivas y extraauditivas. Se justifica el no considerar a la neuropatía propiamente en el grupo de los trastornos del procesamiento central auditivo. Se hacen algunos señalamientos por cuanto a su frecuencia y se mencionan algunas orientaciones para su atención y manejo rehabilitatorio. Conclusión: En esta revisión se analizan los elementos clínicos y audiológicos hasta ahora considerados para identificar y rehabilitar la neuropatía auditiva.
