RESUMEN
Los láseres, las luces y los equipos médicos de alta tecnología
han cobrado gran relevancia en el manejo de las afecciones cutáneas,
con múltiples aplicaciones que van desde el tratamiento
de lesiones vasculares, tatuajes, nevos y vello no deseado, hasta
la reducción de adiposidades o de la flacidez cutánea y subcutánea.
Para su estudio, esta revisión se ha dividido en tres
secciones: láseres pigmento-selectivos e IPL (luz intensa pulsada),
láseres atraídos por agua o grasa, y tecnología dermatológica
no láser. Aquí se presenta la primera de estas tres partes. Se revisa
la historia de los láseres y conceptos como la fototermólisis
selectiva y el tiempo de relajación térmica; así como los diversos
sistemas de enfriamiento y la seguridad en el uso de los láseres y
los equipos de alta tecnología. También se abordan los cuidados
antes, durante y después del tratamiento, así como los diversos
métodos anestésicos. En este segmento se incluyen los láseres
y las luces para lesiones vasculares, pigmentadas y depilación.
