Lupus eritematoso sistémico en paciente con miastenia gravis posterior a timectomía: Reporte de caso y revisión de la literatura

RESUMEN
La coexistencia de miastenia gravis y lupus eritematoso sistémico es poco común; aún más rara es la
aparición de lupus eritematoso sistémico posterior a la realización de timectomía en una paciente con
miastenia gravis. Se describe el caso de una paciente femenina de 21 años de edad conocida con
diagnóstico de miastenia gravis, que 3 años posteriores a la realización de timectomía, presentó un
cuadro de artritis poliarticular simétrica, eritema malar, alopecia, anemia hemolítica, linfopenia,
hipocomplementemia, así como presencia de anticuerpos antinucleares, por lo que se integró el
diagnóstico de lupus eritematoso sistémico. Se presenta además una revisión entre la asociación de
timectomía y desarrollo de lupus eritematoso sistémico en pacientes con miastenia gravis, así como la
descripción de otros casos reportados.
