Aneurismas de aorta

RESUMEN
Presentamos un breve panorama del aneurisma de aorta abdominal y del de la aorta descendente torácica. Revisamos la historia, etiología, epidemiología, fisiopatología, cuadro clínico, estudios de diagnóstico mediante imágenes, indicaciones y contraindicaciones, resultados y pronóstico, incluso los diferentes tipos de manejo con la cirugía convencional, la cirugía endovascular y con laparoscopia. Destacamos que el manejo quirúrgico es para prevenir la muerte por ruptura del aneurisma.
