TEMA 12-2015: Acercamiento a la valoración preoperatoria integral en Medicina Interna

RESUMEN

La valoración preoperatoria es siempre un tema de estudio y discusión en el ámbito de la Medicina Interna, ya que debido a su condición de integralidad y globalidad atañe particularmente a esta rama de la medicina. Tradicionalmente se ha planteado fundamentalmente como una valoración de riesgo cardiovascular, sin embargo, va mucho más allá de esta consideración, pues debe incluir todos los aspectos funcionales del individuo. La presente revisión busca conformar una guía práctica, de consulta rápida, sobre los principales rubros que constituyen una valoración preoperatoria, sin pretender ser absoluta ni mucho menos, exhaustiva. Incluye consideraciones generales y valoraciones de riesgo por órganos y sistemas; comentarios puntuales sobre condiciones médicas específicas y finalmente, algunas recomendaciones sobre la interconsulta al subespecialista, según sea el caso.
