La Miocardiopatía por Ventrículo no compactado es una entidad recientemente descubierta considerando que data de los inicios del siglo pasado los primeros casos documentados. Con una historia reciente y series pequeñas según los reportes consultados, resulta insuficiente la referencia sobre el comportamiento de variables epidemiológicas, su incidencia en población pediátrica es alrededor de un 9.2%, identificada como la tercera más frecuente cardiomiopatía, después de la dilatada y la hipertrófica, y en adultos no se encuentra claramente determinada, aunque se estima en un (0.015- 0.25%) - (0.014-0.14%), a partir de datos provenientes de laboratorios de ecocardiografía.
