Cáncer gástrico temprano

RESUMEN
Cáncer gástrico temprano (CGT) se define como el cáncer gástrico invasivo que no invade más profundamente que la submucosa,
independientemente de metástasis en los ganglios linfáticos. A nivel mundial, el adenocarcinoma gástrico, con casi un
millón de casos nuevos al año, es la segunda causa de mortalidad mundial del cáncer y la principal causa de muerte por cáncer
asociado a la infección. El cáncer gástrico temprano representa el 15 a 57 por ciento de cáncer gástrico, dependiendo de la
región geográfica. El cáncer gástrico temprano ha impulsado el desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías de imagen para la detección
de la neoplasia temprana como imagen de banda estrecha, autofluorescencia y ultrasonido endoscópico. Estas tecnologías
se utilizan ahora en todo el tracto gastrointestinal. La necesidad de mejores enfoques para el tratamiento de cáncer gástrico
temprano ha conducido al desarrollo de técnicas de resección endoscópica avanzadas tales como la resección endoscópica de
la mucosa y la disección endoscópica de la submucosa.
