RESUMEN
El inmunoprivilegio son múltiples mecanismos que evitan la destrucción de las células propias de un individuo en determinadas localizaciones, como es el caso del folículo piloso. El colapso de este inmunoprivilegio puede causar patologías citotóxicas, autoinmunes como en la alopecia areata y las alopecias cicatriciales primarias.
