Tecnología de embriones en los felinos domésticos (Felis catus)

RESUMEN
Este trabajo muestra una revisión de los datos obtenidos en publicaciones científicas relacionadas con la tecnología de embriones de los felinos domésticos (Felis catus), dando énfasis en su importancia como modelo experimental para los felinos salvajes. Los subtemas presentados incluyen la producción in vitro de embriones, incluso la recolección y la maduración de ovocitos, fecundación y cultivo in vitro; clonación por transferencia de núcleos, recolección y transplante de embriones, refrigeración y crioconservación de gametos y embriones. Se hace un breve relato histórico y se discuten los resultados más actuales, señalando las perspectivas y los desafíos al futuro.
