Vía de acceso transradial. Técnica y complicaciones

RESUMEN
La utilización del acceso transradial en el cateterismo cardiaco ha aumentado progresivamente debido
a sus claras ventajas sobre el acceso transfemoral. Sin embargo, algunos laboratorios y operadores
plantean que una limitante para su sistematización es su inferior tasa de éxito, basados en la
dificultad técnica y complicaciones propias de esta vía. Proponemos una revisión acerca de algunos
aspectos de la técnica específica utilizada en este acceso, así como las complicaciones derivadas
de este. El dominio de la técnica de acceso transradial mejora el éxito del proceder y reduce las
complicaciones vinculadas al mismo. Las más frecuentes: el espasmo radial, la oclusión radial y hematoma
de la muñeca. El reconocimiento temprano y manejo de estas complicaciones, constituyen
un pilar fundamental para mantener su sistematización y con ello sus beneficios.
