RESUMEN
El objetivo del presente artículo es revisar la anatomía, histología,
embriología, crecimiento y desarrollo del pelo. Asimismo
analizamos aspectos básicos de biología molecular y los mecanismos
moleculares que regulan la morfogénesis de éste. En la
actualidad es necesario conocer a fondo su estructura anatómica
y molecular con el fin de crear nuevos tratamientos para
las alopecias, que son un problema que afecta a gran parte de
la población mundial.
