RESUMEN
La disección aórtica es un evento súbito de alta mortalidad, su incidencia es aproximadamente de 5 a
30 pacientes por millón y su mortalidad aumenta del 1-2% cada hora tras la disección, es más frecuente
en hombres entre 50-60 años. El desgarro de la íntima en la arteria aorta es el evento principal dentro de
esta patología. La degeneración o necrosis quística de la capa media aórtica, es el evento previo dentro
de la fisiopatología para el desarrollo de la disección aórtica traumática. Se presenta el caso de un
paciente con disección aórtica, su estudio, diagnóstico y el tratamiento quirúrgico realizado
