La hiponatremia en los cuidados neurointensivos

RESUMEN
La hiponatremia es una complicación frecuente de la enfermedad y la lesión cerebral.
Requiere evaluación y manejo de todos los factores contribuyentes. Si es aguda y
grave, el tratamiento inicial con solución salina hipertónica puede ser necesario,
independientemente de la causa que la provoca. La diferencia tradicional de la Pérdida
de Sal Cerebral (PSC) y el Síndrome de Secreción Inadecuada de Hormona
Antidiurética (SSIHA) no siempre es útil para el manejo clínico.
