¿Cuándo un problema de salud es una urgencia médica y cuándo no lo es?

RESUMEN
La utilización desordenada de los servicios de urgencias es un hecho de magnitud mundial. El origen de este problema es de orden multifactorial: contribuyen tanto las razones de los usuarios que demandan atención como la indefinición de los conceptos de urgencia y no urgencia. En esta revisión se definen los términos de urgencia médica, se propone una clasificación de grados de urgencia y se analizan algunas estrategias para la solución de este problema.
