Implicaciones de la función del fascículo uncinado en la epilepsia

RESUMEN
El papel funcional del fascículo uncinado (FU) continúa siendo un tema de debate. Su relevancia en diferentes patologías ha
brindado un panorama más específico de sus diversas funciones tales como el lenguaje, la memoria y el procesamiento emocional.
Pacientes con epilepsia del lóbulo temporal han mostrado tener medidas anormales en estudios con difusión y anisotropía del
FU de manera bilateral, siendo que la integración conectiva de FU con áreas frontales, áreas mesiales y anteriores del lóbulo
temporal es relevante para el desempeño en diversas tareas de memoria y lenguaje, así como para el procesamiento emocional.
Con este trabajo se busca brindar una descripción neuroanatómica funcional detallada del mismo y a su vez dar a conocer su
relevancia y función en los procesos cognitivos mencionados.
