FRAGMENTO

La diabetes mellitus (DM) es uno de los problemas de salud con mayor prevalencia en el mundo, cuya incidencia se espera crezca en las próximas décadas.(1) Esta enfermedad causa una alta morbilidad y mortalidad a través de las complicaciones micro y macrovasculares, incluyendo la neuropatía diabética.(2) Este problema, es un trastorno demostrable, evidente o subclínico, que ocurre en el marco de esta enfermedad sin otra causa de neuropatía periférica.
